In March of 2015, Evanston Child Development Center received a federal grant to expand high quality early learning opportunities to families with infants and toddlers in Uinta County, Wyoming.
The Early Head Start Expansion and Child Care Partnership grant was made available through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and were awarded on a competitive basis with five year project periods. By coupling the funds with the Early Head Start Program, the partnerships will support working families by providing a full-day, full-year program so children have the healthy and early experiences they need to realize their full potential.

Early Head Start provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families. Research shows the first three years are critical for brain development, and Early Head Start provides high-quality early care and learning opportunities for our most vulnerable young children. In addition, the program builds relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being, and connections to peers and the community.
